Harm Reduction Approach
Here Are Some Guidelines We’ll Follow:
1
Screening For Suitability And Safety
Before administering psychedelics, you will complete a thorough screening process to identify any contraindications, medical conditions, or medications that may increase the risk of harm. We will assess your physical, mental, and emotional well-being to determine if you are a great candidate for psychedelic therapy.
2
Provide Education And Preparation
I offer education about what to expect during the treatment session and how to minimize the risk of harm. This includes information about the potential risks and side effects, safety guidelines, and tips for managing challenging experiences. We may also discuss the proper dosage, method of administration, and potential interactions with other substances or medications.
3
Create A Supportive And Safe Environment
The setting and atmosphere of the treatment space will promote safety and comfort for you. This may include music, lighting, and other sensory elements that help you feel relaxed and supported. I may also be present and attentive throughout the session to provide guidance and support if needed. Or I will encourage you to have a supportive person present.
4
Monitor And Manage The Treatment Session
During the session, I may ask about your physical and emotional state to ensure you are safe and comfortable. If you experience difficulty, I can provide supportive interventions or adjustments to the treatment approach to help you manage the experience.
5
Provide Integration Support
After the treatment session, you will receive generous support and resources for integrating the experience into your daily life. This will include follow-up sessions, counseling, referral to pertinent support groups, and other resources to help you process the experience and maintain positive changes.
